We tested this kit with the matching T616 and T610 phones, available on the US market.
First of all: it has echo cancellation. Very important in the car, specially for the other party on the call, they get the echo it there's any.
The box is very small and slim compared to others. There is a connector that appears to be to do field firmware updates - we still need to confirm that.
One interesting quirk: when a call has just been made, you can hot hang up until audio comes over from the call. Either you need busy signal, or anything.
Overall, the sound quality is very good. The best we have seen - or I would rather say heard. We would welcome your opinion on the compatibility with various cellphones.

First off, I agree that the HCB-30 is the best name brand BT interface out there.
It has the ability to work with a wide variety of phones I believe. I have had some pairing issues with my T610. But I think alot of the issues are related to really old firmware in the phone.
I would suggest to anyone who gets a car-kit like this to check on the web or with their cell phone store to make sure they have the latest firmware in the phone - I know it can be updated for like $25 - I have not done mine yet and I will post back with the results when I do.

I have read in some other places that there are some problems with pairing or "bonding" between these two devices. Has anyone had any luck making these work together. You would think they would since they are both Sony Ericsson. All the other documents that say they don't work together are from Europe. This is the only Bluetooth forum I could find that seems to be US based.
Thanks.... |

| Any idea how to make the unit remember the volume levels? Everytime I start the car, I have to turn the volume back up... |

Are you providing an always on +12 volt beside the ignition switched +12V hookup? I have an HCB-30 in my 328i, along with a steering wheel adapter from EisKits.com, and the volume right there where I left it. It's wired to the always on +12V and also getting the ignition switched voltage.
